Video Editing
I have worked in video production in a variety of contexts. I first began video editing in 2016 for a National History Day Competition where I received third place nationally. After continuing this competition for two more years, I began work at the University of Minnesota's Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory where I became the communications assistant. Along with my other communications work, I also produced short videos for the lab and handled all video/audio recordings for the lab.

Judy Yang and the Environmental Transport Lab
After a high amount of attention and great feedback on my previous video, Judy Yang reached out to me to produce a similar video for her lab group. This video would share some things the lab does and provide them with media that they can share across their platforms.

I conducted an interview for research, self-researched the topics discussed, then produced a script for the video. Following that script edits and approval from the Communications Director of the lab, I handled all AV for the video and then completed all the editing of the video. Around half of the b-roll footage was taken by me in their lab, but some footage was outsourced to a free stock video website.
Wake Boat Promo Video
In the summer of 2022, a research group at the Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory reached out to me to produce a promotional video that would be displayed on their crowdfunding page. This would be the main video that would bring people to their crowdfunding site.

I conducted interviews for research, then wrote a script for their head researcher to read, scouted a shooting location, handled all audio and video equipment in the interview, then edited the video together.

Because this video was originally posted on a crowdfunding site, a copy of the video posted unlisted on my Youtube channel is provided, not the original link.

Short Historical Documentary
National History Day is a national competition where competitors compete with ten-minute historical documentaries that tell the story of a historical event/figure. The historical event/figure must fulfill the given year's theme.

The videos are scripted narrations over primary/secondary source images and videos found from archives. Sebastian worked with a team of three in his first year, and a partnership in his later two years.

Sebastian placed third in the junior national competition in middle school and eighth in the senior national competition in high school.

Seminar Editing
As part of Sebastian's job at Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory, Sebastian also produced videos of recorded talks given on location.

During this time, Sebastian monitored the camera and audio during seminars and then edited the videos to remove onsite issues and include introduction and closing bumpers.

These videos were published on the SAFL website and youtube channel.
